Description

The central topic of the research group Efficient Algorithms is the development of methods for the efficient use of modern computer architectures for planning, improving, and executing information, business and manufacturing processes. Special attention is paid to interconnected, adaptive systems which are capable to benefit from self-organization.

Major focus of research is the application and the further development of Organic Computing which is crucial for an effective design of future decentralized energy systems as well as the formation of the new discipline Energy Informatics. After the retirement of the head of the research group Prof. Dr. Hartmut Schmeck, the activities in the area of Energy Informatics are continued at the FZI Research Center for Information Technology .
