He holds a Diplom in Media Sciences from the University of Cologne, with a focus on sociology and economics. His diploma thesis on the socio-technical interactions in Tagging Systems and their effects on the quality of collaborative work successfully linked psycho- and sociological knowledge of behavioral patterns to the reality of collaboration in large-scale online systems.  
 
He holds a Diplom in Media Sciences from the University of Cologne, with a focus on sociology and economics. His diploma thesis on the socio-technical interactions in Tagging Systems and their effects on the quality of collaborative work successfully linked psycho- and sociological knowledge of behavioral patterns to the reality of collaboration in large-scale online systems.  
His continued work in this area has taken place in the EU-Project RENDER, where he analyzes the editor behavior in Wikipedia to find patterns that have effects on article quality and bias. This has led for example to the development of a significantly more accurate method to detect reverts in Wikipedia.
