portability and effective orchestration of Cloud-enabled applications over virtualised infrastructures is more apparent. In this paper we present a proof-of-concept project which deals with the deployment and orchestration of Cloud applications through the 1st published version of the TOSCA specification. Kurzfassung
As the sector of SaaS is being evolved, the need of portability and effective orchestration of Cloud-enabled applications over virtualised infrastructures is more apparent. In this paper we present a proof-of-concept project which deals with the deployment and orchestration of Cloud applications through the 1st published version of the TOSCA specification. In our work we investigate the state of the art in the management of Cloud applications and by combining technologies such as Opscode Chef and Openstack we design and develop a framework that allows the management of service topologies on Cloud infrastructures. For the evaluation of the implemented system we orchestrate the un-/deployment of a multi-tier Cloud application use case and in the end we discuss the results and experiences of this activity.
