PANDIA: “Platform for the analysis of privacy notices of interactive assistance systems in the health care domain—Consumer-centered privacy communication”

On March 23, 2020, the kick-off meeting for the research project “PANDIA: Platform for the analysis of privacy notices of interactive assistance systems in the health care domain—Consumer-centered privacy communication” took place in form of a video conference.

The research project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for three years, from March 2020 to February 2023. The objective of the PANDIA project is to develop a platform that enables consumers and companies in the health care domain to automatically check information processing in interactive assistance systems (eg, electronic health records, mHealth apps). Within the research project, we will develop solutions that inform all interested stakeholders what information is stored, transmitted, or processed by whom, in which way, for what purposes, and at which location in interactive assistance systems.

The research group cii, headed by Prof. Dr. Ali Sunyaev, will focus on the research of consumer-centered communication interfaces. Within this framework, functions are developed that can compare and evaluate concrete information processing practices.

The project consortium is led by snoopmedia GmbH (snoopmedia, Bonn). Further project partners are Ascora GmbH (Ascora, Ganderkesee), AI4BD Deutschland GmbH (AI4BD, Furtwangen), OFFIS e.V. Institute for Computer Science (OFFIS, Oldenburg) and the FIZ Karlsruhe Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure (FIZ, Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen).
