Curriculum Vitae

Rudi Studer ist Professor am Institut für Angewandte Informatik und Formale Beschreibungsverfahren (AIFB) am KIT. Seine Forschungsinteressen umfassen Wissensmanagement, Semantic Web Technologien und Anwendungen, Ontologiemanagement, Data and Text Mining, Service Science und Semantic Grid. Er ist stellvertretender Sprecher des Kompetenzfeldes Organisations- und Dienstleistungsgestaltung am KIT.

Sein Informatik-Diplom erhielt er 1975 an der Universität Stuttgart. 1982 promovierte und 1985 habilitierte er an der Universität in Stuttgart. 1985 bis 1989 war er Projektleiter und Manager am wissenschaftlichen Zentrum von IBM Deutschland.

Rudi Studer ist Vorstand am FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik und Direktor am Forschungsbereich Information Process Engineering (IPE) am FZI sowie Gründungsgesellschafter der ontoprise GmbH. Er ist zudem Direktor am Karlsruhe Service Research Institut (KSRI).

Er ist an zahlreichen nationalen und internationalen Projekten beteiligt, unter anderem am DFG Graduiertenkolleg Information Management and Market Engineering (IME) und am EU-Projekt Network of Excellence on Large-Scale Data Management (PlanetData).

Rudi Studer war Gründungspräsident der Semantic Web Science Association und früherer Editor-in-chief des Journal of Web Semantics: Science, Services and Agents on the World Wide Web.

 He obtained a Diploma in Computer Science at the University of Stuttgart in 1975. In 1982 he was awarded a Doctor's degree in Mathematics and Informatics at the University of Stuttgart, and in 1985 he obtained his Habilitation in Informatics at the University of Stuttgart. From 1985 to 1989 he was project leader and manager at the Scientific Center of IBM Germany.
