Description

The research group "eOrganization" at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Institute for Applied Informatics (AIFB), explores the emerging research field of "Cloud Service Engineering". Building on foundations from software engineering, Web engineering, distributed systems and service science, the group explores models, methods, and middleware technology for cloud computing and service-oriented computing.

The main focus of research and expertise of the group are in the areas of

  • Cloud Computing: Cloud Services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), Cloud Storage, Cloud Application Architecture, Cloud programming models, Cloud migration and decision modeling
  • Service Engineering: Web Architecture and APIs, Open collaboration platforms, Data & Service Mashups, Service Networks (Value creation, BPM, BAM), Service feature modeling

The group follows an interdisciplinary approach and works in collaboration with industry and within national and international research projects.

The group is associated partner of the Karlsruhe Service Research Institute (KSRI) at KIT and engages in the KIT research focus COMMputation.

The eOrganization group works in very close cooperation with the FZI Research Center for Information Technology, Information and Process Engineering Department (IPE) in Karlsruhe and the newly established FZI Office in Berlin-Mitte.
