Kurzfassung
In this paper, we present a novel approach for the management of ontology-based knowledge portals. The approach is based on the analysis of the factors, which influence the precision of the searching for information. We focus on the structure of user queries, which are an estimation of the user information needs. Two kinds of analyses of the users' queries are performed: static - related to the ontological properties and dynamic - related to the users' interaction with the system. Regarding to the first analysis we define several assessment criteria for the quality of the metadata. For the second analysis, we introduced the Log ontology as a backbone for storing and analysing information about users' behaviours in the Portal. We extended the previous research done in the analysing Query logs by introducing query-rewriting patterns. Moreover, we developed a new technology for tracking users' interactions with the system, which is applied in our case study. The short evaluation shows the benefits of our approach in the real-world portals.
