KASTEL certificate now also for industrial engineers and business informatics students

December 4, 2019 - The certificate has been extended so that now business and IT students who are interested in information security can receive the KASTEL certificate. The Competence Center for Applied Security Technology (KASTEL) is one of Germany's three Cybersecurity Competence Centers initiated by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in March 2011. Prof. Dr. Hartmut Schmeck appointed as KIT Distinguished Senior Fellow

September 4, 2019 - The KIT Executive Board has appointed Prof. Dr. Hartmut Schmeck as a KIT Distinguished Senior Fellow with effect from 1 August 2019 and for a period of three years. Until his retirement in 2018, Hartmut Schmeck led the research group Efficient Algorithms and was one of the heads of the institute. We congratulate him warmly on the appointment and wish him much success in his future activities.


The 35th AIK Symposium
"Blockchain - Proof-of-Worth"

November 12, 2019 - The 35th AIK Symposium was a complete success with over 100 participants. On October 25th, under the theme "Blockchain - Proof-of-Worth", top experts from science and industry gave five talks on the transformative character of the DLT from different perspectives, such as computer science, law and business.

Commitment to leading visualization conferences

August 19, 2019 - Ms. PD Dr.-Ing. Tatiana Landesberger von Antburg was nominated as Paper Chair of EuroVis and will take over this function from 2020. EuroVis is the largest international visualization conference in Europe. As Poster Chair, she is also member of the Organizing Committee of VIS - one of the world's most important conferences in this field. There she also organizes a workshop on the visualization of multilayer networks together with international colleagues.
