Kurzfassung
Multimedia engineering is the concept of building up a multimedia product, including principles, methods and techniques for all stages of development. This concept is strongly shaped by an interdisciplinary working method. Today's professionals of different disciplines have to proof their skills in a global environment with various tasks. They must cooperate in areas of conflict, such as technical, educational, psychological and economical questions. Therefore multimedia companies are looking for high-profile candidates with sound knowledge of their subject area, as well as teamwork and other key qualifications. It is the task and challenge of universities to qualify their students in an optimal manner for their further professional careers by endowing them with special field knowledge and interdisciplinary skills. Therefore the Institute AIFB of the University of Karlsruhe has developed a seminar concept, which takes into account the qualifications demanded by the multimedia industry. In the following article, the authors would like to explain this concept.
