|Abstract=This paper proposes the use of an open source connected home framework, an open wireless network protocol and various sensors to implement a prototype connected home. The prototype is centered on four possible use cases a smart home might face. The used tools were chosen due to their open nature and expandability without being restricted to one company or system. The framework is presented as well as the used protocol and sensors.
