Marc Zofka forscht an Absicherungsmethoden für automatisierte Mobilitätssysteme mittels Methoden der virtuellen und augmentierten Realität für Mensch und Maschine. Das Prinzip von VR- und AR-Systemen wird dabei auf die Sensortechnologien (LiDAR, Kamera, etc.) automatisierter und vernetzter Fahrzeuge (PKW, Shuttle, ...) adaptiert und auf der Straße im realen Verkehr im Testfeld Autonomes Fahren evaluiert.
