[[https://evoting-phd.secuso.org/ Since 2006, the colloquium takes place] in order to consider different aspects of E-Voting, such as legal hurdles, identity management, legal and technical aspects, costs and challenges of the verification of elections. In addition to presentations and discussions dedicated to the current state of research of the participating doctoral students, the highlight of this year's colloquium was the demo session of the voting machines from the SECUSO research group. The presented machines included the mechanical voting device 'System Darmstadt' and a [https://www.bundesverfassungsgericht.de/SharedDocs/Entscheidungen/DE/2009/03/cs20090303_2bvc000307.html NEDAP] voting computer, both  were used in the past for legally binding elections in Germany, yet are currently not allowed to be used for such elections anymore. Furthermore, the [http://easyvote.secuso.org/ EasyVote] system has been presented, which was developed within the SECUSO research group for elections that allow cumulative voting and panachage.

21. Internationales E-Voting Kolloquium


Am 9. und 10. April co-organisierten Melanie Volkamer und Oksana Kulyk zusammen mit den KASTEL Professoren Prof. Bernhard Beckert und Prof. Jörn Müller-Quade das 21. E-Voting Kolloquium im Karlsruher Institut für Technologie.

Das seit 2006 europaweit stattfindende Kolloquium thematisiert verschiedene Aspekte des E-Voting wie rechtliche Hürden, Identitätsmanagement, rechtliche und technische Aspekte, die Kosten und die Herausforderungen der Verifizierbarkeit von Wahlen. Neben den Vorträgen und Diskussionen zum aktuellen Stand des Promotionsvorhaben der teilnehmenden DoktorandInnen, waren das Highlight des diesjährigen Kolloquiums die Demo-Session zu den Wahlgeräten der Forschungsgruppe SECUSO: neben einem mechanischen Wahlgerät "System Darmstadt" und einen NEDAP Wahlgerät (beide wurde in der Vergangenheit für rechtsverbindliche Wahlen in Deutschland eingesetzt sind inzwischen aber für rechtsverbindliche Wahlen nicht mehr zulässig) wurde das von der Forschungsgruppe SECUSO entwickelte EasyVote System, welches für Wahlen bei denen kumulieren und panaschieren erlaubt ist, demonstriert.
