Job Description

In the newly established research group Cooperative Autonomous Systems at the Institute AIFB, a new position for doctoral candidates is available. As part of the project CulturalRoad (HORIZON-CL5-2023-D6-01-04), funded by the Horizon Europe Program, you will explore the expectations and visions of citizens in the region of Karlsruhe regarding future connected and automated mobility. Using Virtual Reality simulations and experiments in the Real-world Lab Karlsruhe, you will investigate cultural differences compared to other EU countries and develop a model for the future of mobility in the Karlsruhe region. Supported by your supervisor, you will publish and present your findings in an international context, actively engage in teaching, and contribute to the supervision of thesis projects. In addition to your involvement in academic administration, you will continuously work on your dissertation and build your own competence and scientific portfolio.


Personal qualification
  • Master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, economics, human-computer interaction or similar,
  • Interest in working with a virtual environment and real-world laboratory research,
  • Strong interest in working in a cross-disciplinary setting,
  • a strong drive for excellence in science and technology at the highest international level is expected,
  • communication skills and open-mindedness,
  • good knowledge of German or the willingness to learn it,
  • good command of the English language.


Salary

The remuneration occurs on the basis of the wage agreement of the civil service in EG-13, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.

as soon as possible
