Design Principles of Advanced Task Elicitation Systems

Veranstaltungsart:
Kolloquium Angewandte Informatik

Within the development and design of software products and services a large amount of unstructured information from various stakeholders becomes available and needs to be analyzed and transformed into structured requirements. This elicitation process is known to be time-consuming and error-prone when performed manually. Thus, there is a clear demand for advanced support of the elicitation process. Addressing this issue, this talk presents our research focusing on automated and knowledge-based support of the elicitation process following a theory-guided design science research approach.

Short Bio: Prof. Dr. A. Mädche is full professor and chairperson of the Chair of Information Systems IV at the Business School and managing director of the Institute of Enterprise Systems (InES), both at the University of Mannheim. Focus of the research work of Prof. Mädche is the development, implementation, and use of enterprise systems (ES). His research topics cover ES development with emphasis on software development processes, user-centered design as well as platform-based development. Furthermore, in the area of ES use one of his key research areas is the investigation of human-centered enterprise systems, both from an empirical-theoretical and design research-oriented perspective.

Alexander Mädche studied business engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology from 1994-1999 and received a PhD (Dr. rer. pol.) from the University of Karlsruhe in 2001. In the time frame of 2001 to 2003, Alexander Mädche was head of a research group for knowledge-based systems at the Research Center for Computer Science (FZI), Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Before joining the University of Mannheim in 2009, Alexander Mädche worked six years in industry focusing on large-scale information system development, implementation, and use at Bosch Group and SAP AG.
