Bei der IEEE IV 2025 in Rumänien war unsere Forschungsgruppe mit 13 akzeptierten Paper vertreten. Außerdem gewann Ahmed Abouelazm den Best Paper Award mit seinem Beitrag "TPK: Trustworthy Trajectory Prediction Integrating Prior Knowledge For Interpretability and Kinematic Feasibility".

Am 1. März 2024 empfing das KIT-Zentrum für Mobilitätssysteme sowie das Energy Lab am Campus Nord Besuch von Dr. Volker Wissing, dem Bundesminister für Digitales und Verkehr, sowie den Bundestagsabgeordneten Michael Theurer und Parsa Marvi.

Am Tag der offenen Tür und beim Campustag am KIT haben wir unsere Forschungsgruppe zahlreichen kleinen und großen Besucher*innen vorgestellt. In unseren Institutsräumen präsentierten wir verschiedene Systeme und Roboter, die in Forschung und Lehre bei uns zum Einsatz kommen. Darüber hinaus beteiligten wir uns an der Wissensrallye sowie am „Weg der Nachhaltigkeit“ und freuten uns über spannende Gespräche mit interessierten Gästen.

A robot that helps children cross the street safely? What sounds like science fiction has become reality in Bratislava – with significant involvement from KIT. 

On September 22, 2024, the workshop takes place in conjunction with the 16th International Conference on Automotive User Interfaces. This workshop deals with the rise of micromobility services and Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) as a potential solution to problems like regulations, standardization and road safety.

Peressotti, J. Stentoft, K. A. Wickstrøm, V. C. Keating, L. A. Tumchewics, O. Schmitt, A. Theussen und Peter Mayer, sowie "From Fear to Control: Developing a Three-Factor Scale for Cybersecurity Anxiety (CybAS)" von N. Dall, H. Hagge, Peter Mayer und Cori Faklaris. CHI ist die führende internationale Konferenz im Bereich Human-Computer-Interaction und wir gratulieren allen Autor:innen herzlich zu diesem großartigen Erfolg. CHI 2026 findet vom 13. bis 17. April 2026 in Barcelona, Spanien, statt. 

Zusätzlich zu Melanie Volkamer und Peter Mayer unterstützt auch Benjamin Berens in diesem Jahr das Programm-Komitee des Symposium on Usable Privacy and Security (SOUPS 2026). Seit Januar 2026 ist SOUPS im Ranking gestiegen und wird nun als "A" Konferenz gelistet. Die Einreichung von Papern war bis zum 19. Februar möglich, bis Mitte März haben die Reviewer nun Zeit, die eingegangenen Paper zu begutachten. SOUPS findet vom 23. bis 26. August 2026 in Hannover, Deutschland statt. 

We are pleased to share that the paper titled “Data-driven artificial intelligence applications for tyre-road-noise prediction and road condition monitoring: A review and future directions” by Postdoc Dr. Mustafa Demetgül and Prof. Sanja Lazarova-Molnar, which focuses on data-driven artificial intelligence approaches, has been published in the journal Measurement (Elsevier – ScienceDirect). This publication was produced as part of the Tyre Road Noise (TyRoN) Project, which focuses on data-driven approaches for tyre–road noise prediction and road condition monitoring, drawing on signal processing, machine learning, and intelligent sensing. It highlights key AI approaches, data requirements, and future research directions in acoustic AI and smart mobility.

[December 7-10, 2025] -  Last week, the SYDSEN research group had a strong presence at the 2025 Winter Simulation Conference (WSC 2025), held in Seattle, USA. WSC is the leading international conference in computer simulation, bringing together researchers and practitioners working on modeling, Digital Twins, decision support, and data-driven simulation.

At WSC 2025, SYDSEN contributed seven peer-reviewed papers addressing key challenges in research on Digital Twins. In addition, SYDSEN delivered a invited tutorial on data-driven Petri net model extraction and simulation for Digital Twins in smart manufacturing, providing practical methodologies for developing Digital Twins model extraction approaches.
